Mexico, Jun. 26 (Notimex) .- The world cruise industry plans to increase its itineraries and include new destinations in Mexico, which is ranked as the world's leading power in the arrival of pleasure ships.
Princess Cruises announced that it will increase routes and plans to include new Mexican points on its Caribbean and Pacific routes, such as Mahahual, Huatulco, Manzanillo and Puerto Chiapas.
Ruth Leal, director of the shipping company in Latin America, stressed that Mexico is one of the priority countries for this industry, and made recognition to the work of the holder of the Ministry of Tourism, Enrique de la Madrid.
She said the new policies are generating an unprecedented appeal for this industry, which will bring more ships and expand routes, which will benefit Mexico by increasing the number of tourists and foreign exchange earnings.
She stressed that the Florida and Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), under the aegis of Michelle Paige, recognizes the dialogue between the tourism minister and the policies implemented to make the different ports of Mexico more attractive.
Destinations such as Puerto Chiapas are already in the sights of the cruise industry and in particular Princess Cruises already plans to visit the port by the end of the year, Leal said.
She recalled that today, cruising is one of the most cost-effective options in the world, since there are cabins from 50 dollars a day per person with everything included in luxury boats.
Leal stressed that Mexico has become this presidential term in one of the meccas of world tourism thanks to successful policies and open doors that had not been seen with previous governments.
