Mexico, Sep. 28 (Notimex).- With the participation of 14 groups, seven of which come from Spain, Russia, United States, Czech Republic and, for the first time, Greece and just over 115 activities scheduled from October 9 to 20, the 31st International Puppet Festival "Rosete Aranda" will be held.
According to the program, it will have the participation of two local groups in the cities of Tlaxcala and Huamantla, as well as five groups from Aguascalientes, Mexico City, Chihuahua, Jalisco and Sinaloa.
Other activities related to the puppets are the presentation of the special issue of the magazine "Authors" dedicated to puppetry for children; international film cycle and a puppet workshop specialized for children with Down syndrome.
According to the program, Ambassador Carmen Moreno Toscano will be awarded the medal "Rosete Aranda" for her selfless work and support for the puppets through the Carmen Toscano Foundation.
During the inaugural puppet parade through the main streets of the Tlaxcala city´s downtown, the attendance of 70 thousand people are estimated and the presentation of illuminated giant puppets and an air show is contemplated.
The International Puppet Festival "Rosete Aranda" is organized by the state government of Tlaxcala, in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Culture, the National Institute of Fine Arts and the Tlaxcala Institute of Culture, and aims to promote this artistic tradition.
