Cuba, Guest of honor at the International Book Fair of Arteaga

Saltillo, Mexico, May 25 (Notimex).- Cuba will be the guest of honor at the International Book Fair Arteaga (FILA, for its acronym in Spanish), which projects the participation of 500 publishing funds and the realization of more than 800 events, to be held from May 27 to June 7.

The ministries of Culture and Education and the State Coordination of Libraries, said that everything is ready for the start of the FILA 2016, edition number 19, which will also have to Baja California as a state guest.

The University City of the Autonomous University of Coahuila (UAC, for its acronym in Spanish) in Arteaga, will host this cultural event, which will include 500 workshops, book presentations, exhibitions and artistic performances.

The Book Fair in Arteaga 2016 will be attended by prominent authors like Benito Taibo, Jose Luis Rivas, Raul Renan, Elmer Mendoza, Amparo Davila, Bernardo Esquinca, Enrique Serna and Javier Aranda.

Also writers Minerva Margarita Villarreal, Julio Patan, Elva Macías, Julian Herbert, Pura Lopez Colome, Luis Jorge Boone, Leonardo Da Jandra, Carlos Velazquez, Tryno Maldonado and Vicente Alfonso, among others.

Within its organization, the Fair includes the Section FILA Children and Youth / Reading Training; which is a space for reading promotion dedicated to young kids from Coahuila, where workshops, aloud readings, shows and cultural activities will be done, children’s editions will be presented.

It will also have an institutional and university pavilion where the main invited institutions will be placed, such as the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH, for its acronym in Spanish), which will present more than 600 different titles.

In this area, highlights the presence of Dr. Consuelo Maquivar, who will give the lecture “The New Spanish sculptors: their life and work”.

As for the concerts: the assistants will be delighted with groups like Nortec (Fussible and Bostich), La Ballena de Jonás, Youth Ensemble of Classical Music under the Cultural Institute of Baja California, the theatrical production “Todavía” (Still) with Hernán del Riego , among others.

A fin de lograr una mayor asistencia a la 19 edición de la Feria, las autoridades estatales pondrán a disposición de la comunidad transporte gratuito que saldrá de diversos puntos de la ciudad, en diferentes horarios.

In order to achieve greater attendance at the 19th edition of the fair, state authorities made available to the community free transportation with different departure points in the city, at different times.
